We’d like to thank everyone that took the chance on the spring weather and joined us for Round 1! It was great to see so many of you again.
Friday was hit and miss, but the times the track was dry, it was surprisingly fast with people beating personal best times through the day. Saturday was a great day even given the cold air temperatures.
And then there is Sunday… We walked into the HPDE4, TT and Race Group drivers’ meetings 30 minutes before the first session, with a dry, clean track, and 20 minutes later we had near whiteout conditions and saw snow accumulation on race surfaces.
We waited went on a weather hold, waited as long as we could watching the surfaces get worse, and finally had to make the very tough call to cancel the day. And yes, yes those are snow angels on pit lane.
We are already working with UMC to try to find a date to hold a make-up event, and will updated everyone as soon as we can. For those that were registered for Sunday 3/26, we’ll be reaching out to you within two weeks with more information on your event credit.
